On the use of ROLLUP in Oracle SELECT statements

· Nov 4, 04:32 pm by Simon Greener

This article is not about Oracle Locator/Spatial but simply about the use of some of Oracle’s Relational On-Line Analytical Processing (ROLAP) functionality in building reports for publication with a range of software from Apex to Crystal Reports.

The context for this is that I regularly am hirecd to write ordinary financial reports for the Department of Treasury and Finance in Hobart. I am not just an Oracle Spatial specialist but someone with over 25 years use in relational and non-relational (eg ADABAS) databases.

This report is not published as a native blog article, rather it is published in a Adobe Acrobat PDF file.

On The Use Of Rollup

I hope it is of use to someone out there.
